Yonkers - Ambrogio Guastaferro, 84, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Tripoli, Libya and raised in Selvacava, Italy, the son of the late Davide and Maria Guastaferro. He married Caterina Guastaferro on September 8th, 1956 in Caracas, Venezuela.
Ambrogio came to the United States in 1956 believing in the American dream for his family. He worked odd jobs to make ends meet and worked his way up to Custodial Engineer in the NYC education system. Ambrogio was well known as the jack of all trades when needed and master of all. His greatest achievement was his love for his wife, children and his grandchildren, of whom he was so proud.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Caterina Guastaferro; his daughter, Romana and her husband Joseph Corradi; his son, David and his wife Joy; his son, Angelo and his wife Sandra; eight grandchildren, Joseph, David, Michael, Giancarlo, Gianna, Lucia, Angelo and Lisa. He is also survived by his sisters, Lucia Lacarbonara and Miranda Recine.
